Melting military men might seem like a weird idea, but it totally worked for this project. Originally the plan was to melt the actual men, as it turned out it was harder than first thought. Instead I bought candle wax that matched the colors of the plastic and melted that. I chopped the men up then stuck them into the wax..
I still have candle wax on the floor.
